He had some very nasty things to say about President Bush and he wasn't joking.

I never listened to his radio program. I tried to listed to the Air America (I think that was the name of the network) program one morning when I was leaving Raliegh. Not sure who the host was, but her attitude was as bad as Ann Coulter's, only from the other side. I never listened again.

I've been thinking about this. I think Edwards should find a good trial lawyer and sue Ann Coulter and her publishers (along with Enquirer). Ok, the part about him finding a trial lawyer was a joke, but the suit part isn't. Too many publications and radio personalities have gotten away with too much for too long.

I'm going on the assumotion that the charges are without merit.

Al Franken is a comedian and I'm sure he's probably said some outrageous things as jokes, but I've never heard of him trying to pass things off as facts (it's possible though).

As for his radio show, he had one of the networks biggest shows (though I never listened to it or any other radio show regularly). His departure was necessary because of his Senate run.

I also think the free market should remove her from the air. Start petitions, boycott stations that carry her, write advertisers, whatever. Heck, I might even sign a petition on that.

I'm not registered as a Republican (I'm independent), but I tend to vote that way. I'm doing my part to shut her up. I don't listen to her.

I'm also using this technique against Al Franken, Al Gore and many others.

Have you forgotten the half-dozen or so stories that the tabs have broken over the past few years? There's been a few stories that the MSM ignored, that the tabloids tracked down. Both the NYT and the National Enquirer have lawyers. We really only hear about the sensational tabloid lawsuits. But the "legit" papers settle quite frequently and they also have their share of public lawsuits.

Just because it appears on the Washington Post or the Milwaukee Sentinel-Journal doesn't mean it's automatically true.

Just because it appears in a paper that's displayed among the candy and gum and Tic-Tacs doesn't mean it's automatically false.
