Why is going to the left, toward greater socialism a good thing? Why is increasing the role of government in our lives and families a good thing? Why is moving toward a system of government that failed in the Soviet Union, Poland, East Germany, Romania, Hungry, North Korea, and in China a good thing? Why do you find it necessary for government to run your life?

Oh come on. Calling all Democrats communists is about as fair as saying that all Republican's are fascists.

Neither side has gone to those extremes and alluding that they have strikes me as a desperate tactic.

David;

That would be impossible. The the only two fascist states in history were Italy and Japan, which were aligned with the National Socialist Party (NAZI) in Germany. Common to fascists, socialists (to include NAZIS), and modern day Democrats is the aim to control business and individuals through a centralized government. On a linear scale socialists and facists restrict and control various degrees of social and economic freedoms.

While I would say that the democrats have not arrived at the same point as the facists and socialists they have the same aspirations.
