Planned Parenthood Goes After Four Ohio Republicans

Planned Parenthood is fuming after four Ohio Republicans voted for an unsuccessful  last minute amendment to cut funding for Planned Parenthood's family planning services. Now they're putting posters like the one shown up in Planned Parenthood clinics in these Representatives' districts.

The poster is available in four PDF flavors:

Hang 'em on your wall.

Well if I lived in Ohio, these representatives would certainly have my vote. At least there are a few decent human being left in the world who actually care about the slaughter of unborn babies. Bravo to them! I say shut the death camps down for good!

Somehow I never could understand why Planned Parenthood, if they are as great as they say they are, couldn't raise money some way other than through my taxes.

Somehow I think my taxes should go to things that aren't as controversial as providing teenagers with sex advice against parents' wishes or promoting abortion.

Maybe my taxes should go to explaining the downsides of "Planned Parenthood"

I look at it this way, if someone has decided to go behind their parents back and seek the services of Planned Parenthood than that person is just as likely to ignore their parents wishes that they don't have sex. Wouldn't you prefer that these kids at least learn a little about safe sex and the risks first?

People want to have it both ways. They don't want kids to know about contraception (because they think it will promote promiscuity) but they also want to decrease abortions. Life just doesn't work that way.

But why should my taxes pay for it?

The representatives didn't try to shut down PP (contrary to the poster), they just elected not to fund them.

I think PP should only be funded by those who want their purpose to continue. And yes, I will step up to funding the alternative, some abstinence based education and some unplanned pregnancies.

I personally think it's worthwhile but I also don't know that I can convince you that taxes should support Planned Parenthood.

One of the roles of Planned Parenthood is to educate interested young people about things that their parent's won't. It's obviously going to be controversial but it's also necessary.
