Server Upgrades With A Side Of Being An Asshole

So Right Angle Blog came back from their maintenance with all the grace and journalistic integrity of a super market tabloid. In a post where Matt Naugle announced that the changes were complete he attacked an Ohio blogger by posting details of their father's DUI (which took place 2 months before I was even born), claiming this was why the blogger defended Frankie Coleman.

Did you miss the point Matt or are you just an idiot? The point wasn't that Frankie Coleman's DUI wasn't wrong but that it was a personal issue that you should let them deal with in private. You got your story and made sure everyone knew about it. Honestly I was fine with that until you made it a point to rub it in everyone's face several times over. Now you've crossed a line. You attacked someone through their parents, an act that says more about how you were raised than the blogger in question.

I'm deleting RAB from my feed reader the second this post goes live. I urge everyone else to do the same. This kind of shit isn't news, it's gossip.

Update: The post was taken down since this post went up. I'm still not resubscribing to RAB or linking to them ( I just dropped them from my blog roll) until they apologize to Mr. Kurtz. I urge other bloggers on both sides of the political realm to do the same.

David,

If you are truly opposed to "gossip" as well as blatant partisan hackery, you should quit being "buddy buddy" with Buckeye State Blog and Plunderbund Blog.

Both of these left-leaning blogs are every bit as similar to tabloid journalism as the Right Angle Blog.

So, will you denounce the tabloid antics of Todd Hoffman, Eric Vessels, Jerid Kurtz, Bryan Clark, modernesquire and Peter Koltak similar to how you're denouncing Matt Naugle??

I highly doubt you'll go that far to stand against "gossip" and obvious partisan hackery regarding people who reflect your partisan interests.

You'll be considered a hypocrite, if you don't denounce all gossip and all biased hackery. At this point, it appears you're just publishing more of the same nonsense propaganda that already shows-up on the BS blog and PlunderDUMB.

They already publish more than enough "gossip" and blind propaganda. We don't need you enabling them by supporting their false schtick by pointing readers in the direction of their inaccurate and silly blog posts.

When you turn 21, myself and other experienced activists may take you out for a drink to educate you. But, until that time you're just a kid with a blog who rehashes bad information that has been both infesting and infecting the Ohio Blogosphere for far too long.

I've yet to see any of the democratic leaning sites you referred to post anything like Naugle did but if they did I'd be just as angry. There's a big difference between attacking another blogger and attacking their family. I also don't think it's right to attack people for their looks or other things beyond their control and have said as much when people attack Naugle for his weight. I'm not so skinny myself so I know what it feels like.

You're right about my blog though, I am just a kid with a blog. I've never claimed to be anything more. The thing your missing though is that I don't do it for Todd Hoffman (I've never even talked to him), Eric Vessels (emailed him a few times several months ago), Jerid Kurtz (I email him occasionally but not often), Bryan Clark, modernesquire (maybe through comments at BSB for those two), or Peter Koltak (who the hell is he?). I only do it for myself. I don't care if I have 3 visits a day or 3,000 (both have happened but it's usually around 70-80), it would still be fun.

I know you've heard it before but if you hate all the blogs so much than start your own. I'm not just saying this to try and shut you up, I'm honestly suggesting it. It'd be a good place for you to share your opinions and fill in the hole that you think other blogs are leaving. You could be up and running on Blogger in about 5 minutes and it wouldn't cost you a dime.

And just for the record I don't drink. No moral objection or anything, I just hate the taste of beer.

I don't hate all Ohio blogs. But, I do despise the hacks of both major political parties and certain issue oriented hacks.

I haven't started a blog because I do not wish to become a "public figure" in terms of media law. As long as I am not a "public figure," I have some remedies available to me in case people like Todd Hoffman, Bryan Clark, Jerid Kurtz and Eric Vessels get too carried away with their slanders toward me.

Peter Koltak has the alias name of 2010_Buckeye on BSB. I don't know the true identity of modernesquire.

Look, I have plenty of supportive political acquaintances that are 20-something. I don't really intend to put you down. But, if you're going to support the antics on BS blog and PlunderDUMB, then I'll have to judge you as a juvenile delinquent who'd rather jump on Todd Hoffman's (Mr. Lie and Earn) Ohio Democratic Party online bandwagon than think for yourself.

In other words, I'd judge you as being mindless. Hopefully this is not a true assessment of you. But, only time will tell. So far, IMO, you seem a little too tied to the BS blog and PlunderDUMB rhetoric which originates from Todd Hoffman at the ODP's headquarters.

People on blogs get to have opinions and be partisan, that's what sets them apart from the MSM. You don't have to agree with them.

I also don't really understand your reasoning on not blogging. To alter an old expression: You're already in the kitchen, do you honestly think it gets much hotter? I don't really see any legal difference (though I'm not a lawyer) between leaving public comments and keeping a blog. People already know you and have written posts about you and will probably continue to do so whether you start a blog or not.

As for my own blog I write my posts how I want to and I'm not going to change just because you, Todd Hoffman, or anyone else wants me to. I'm not part of any ODP conspiracy and if there is one they haven't let me in on it. As far as I know the ODP has only actually been to this site a few times and I wouldn't even know that much if I didn't keep an eye on my blogs stats.
