DCCC Has Zack Space On The "Frontline"
Zack Space has been added to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee's list of "Frontline" seats. Frontline is a program that directs money and support to Reps in danger of losing reelection.
The RNC has had a large target painted on Space since the day after the election. Hopefully these funds will help him out.
Space picked up the 18th District seat in Ohio that had been held by six-term Republican Rep. Bob Ney, who quit his re-election bid, pleaded guilty to taking illegal gratuities from Abramoff in exchange for legislative favors, and ultimately resigned before the end of the 109th Congress.
Lampson, Mahoney and Space ran against a Republican “culture of corruption” in 2006. But with the Democrats now in charge of the House and the fallen Republican members out of the way, the 2008 campaign will likely focus on different issues — and Republican strategists will be trying to recruit stronger candidates than those who belatedly stood in for their resigned incumbents last time.
