Domestic Spying Program Ruled Unconstitutional
A judge has ruled the the warrantless wiretapping program violates the Constitution and must be shut down immediately.
Now before you start thinking that this makes our country less safe I want you to know that we have long had a system in place to deal with terrorist wiretaps. It allowed for calls to be tapped without a warrant though the Government would then be required to appear before a secret court within 24 hours to validate the tap and allow it to be used for an arrest or as evidence. With this program they have just been tapping calls without answering to anyone or having to justify their reason.
